The Unison Group

Dehradun Institute of Technology established in 1998 is the largest project of Unison Group. The other projects of the group are I.M.S. Noida, I.M.S. Dehradun, DIT-Faculty of Architecture, DIT-Faculty of Pharmacy, Unison School of Law and Unison World School.

The Group aims at creating knowledge centers in the field of Education, Training, Research and Consultancy services thereby creating and adding value to the Corporate, Society, Community and the nation at large. To further this objective new projects have been conceived in the area of Bio-Technology, Medicine, Journalism and Information Technology.

The Genesis

Engineering is an exciting and continually progressive profession, crucial to the economic success and future growth and development of all nations. As technology advances, engineers are becoming more vital to the success of the industry and are increasingly highly valued. Modern engineers are involved in problem solving and decision making at every level of industry, technology and business. This makes Engineering a rewarding profession in every sense, but the demands made on engineers are great - they need a high degree of design skills and knowledge of engineering science coupled with an awareness of manufacturing and business skills.

They also need to contribute specialist skills at the highest level while recognizing the constraints imposed by the environment and the needs of the society. Naturally the standards of education and training required are demanding, and it is extremely important that engineering education keeps pace with advances being made. The professional engineering bodies recognize these rapid changes by continual monitoring of degree programs. The Engineering programs taught at DIT are carefully scrutinized on a regular basis by UA Technical University,Dehradun & U.P Technical University, Lucknow (our affiliating University) as well as AICTE, (our approving body) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. These are 4-year degree programs which on successful completion lead to the award of B-Tech degrees.

DIT has very strong links with the industry and continues to receive generous support from Industries and Organizations. The Academic Advisory Council as well as the Corporate Advisory Body which oversees the adherence to syllabi and structure of all our degree programs, includes senior industrialists as well as academic visionaries of the country. The confidence of the Industry in DIT is amply demonstrated by the list of luminaries who have visited DIT to deliver guest and specialized Lectures. Our awareness of the needs of the Industry will definitely add to an excitingly high rate of immediate employment of our graduates. As a result of our ties with the industry, we are frequently in a position to assist students with finding relevant Summer Training which is a doorway to permanent employment.
