The Institute

Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun was established in October 1998 and is the largest project of IMS Society, a non-profit making educational society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 established in the year 1996 and is promoted by UNISON GROUP.

DIT is a leading technical institute offering Undergraduate programs and Postgraduate programs in several streams of Engineering, IT and Management. A campus with over 3000 students, coached by a highly distinguished faculty using state-of-the art teaching aids, excellent hostel facilities, and a vision that drives us to ensure holistic education to our students, is what sets us apart from the run-of-the-mill engineering institutes spread all over the country.

From humble beginnings in 1998 to now over 7 B.Tech. programmes and 4 Masters' programs, faculty of Architecture and faculty of Pharmacy such high ideals have driven us at DIT and challenged us to 'seek excellence' and instill the same values in our students as well.

	Institute is affiliated to Uttaranchal Technical University, Dehradun for students admitted from session 2006-07 onwards and was earlier affiliated to UP Technical University Lucknow. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and recognized by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

	Cisco at DIT Cisco Network Academy at DIT is a unique initiative by Cisco System to train the students and Faculty on the practical aspects of networking so that they are better prepared for the requirements of the industry.
	RedHat at DIT RedHat at DIT offers entire training content through E-learning to the students and faculty on the Linux platform. The courses include RHCP certification.

We have succeeded to some extent, which is evident from the fact that our students are placed at highly reputed organizations such as Satyam ,Infosys, L & T, Oracle, IBM, Hindustan Lever Ltd., IFlex, Microsoft, HCL, LG, Lintas, Wipro, , LG, NIIT Technologies etc.


Location

DIT is located at Dehradun, approximately 240 k.m. northwest of New Delhi. The campus is on Dehradun Mussoorie Road (northbound), approximately 10 k.m. from the hustle bustle of Dehradun and just about 20 k.m. short of Mussoorie. It can be conveniently reached by car or by public transport. There is a bus terminal for local buses and the ones headed for Mussoorie and the hills. The nearest Railway Station, the Dehradun Station, is less than 30 minutes away from the campus.
